Wearing the Wedding Sash

There are several ways of wearing the wedding sash; we have illustrated 3 approved ways with the sash pinned at the right shoulder

In this illustration the sash is draped over the right shoulder, wrapped diagonally across the chest and under the opposite arm. It is then passed over the right shoulder from the back and arranged so as to fall to the front as shown. The sash is then 'pinned' at the shoulder with a Clan Brooch.

In this illustration the sash is draped over the right shoulder, the front part is then folded back over the shoulder and gathered across the shoulder to suit. It is then 'pinned' to the shoulder with a Clan Brooch. This method has the advantage of not crossing the chest.

In the final illustration the sash is laid over the right shoulder. It is then brought diagonally across the chest to the left hip. The back section is then brought diagonally across the back to the overlap the front piece on the left hip. It is then 'pinned' to the left hip with a Clan Brooch.

By experimenting you may find other attractive ways of wearing your sash, but you must avoid 'pinning at the left shoulder as by tradition this is reserved for ladies who are Chief's in their own right or married to a Chief, OR, married to a Colonel of a Highland Regiment.
