Pleated to the Stripe

I have been thinking about where the Pleating should be. I would like the Red/White/Blue stripe to be visible, as well as the Gold stripe. My thought is, fold the Red/Blue stripe in half, till the Gold stripes on either side meet. I think this is what you suggested. Let me know. Thanks. :)

Dear David,
Its difficult to describe exactly what happens with the pleats. So here's a picture of what is possible. The picture shows 3 different arrangements of "pleated to the stripe" - you can only have one! This style is normally worn by military pipe bands.

Otherwise, you might prefer the standard "pleating to the sett", where the pleats follow the pattern.

Your picture was most helpful in helping me to make up my mind, thank you. By a consensus of opinion, from various family members, option number 2 won, hands down. I would also like to have a second kilt made using option number 3; it has a more formal look to it.
